Bladenboro Golfer Wins 2009 Chevrolet Malibu

in Elizabethtown Rotary Club Cool Breeze Tournament

Ricky Yandle of Bladenboro had that once-in-a-lifetime shot Thursday afternoon and it came at exactly the right time. Yandle, playing in the Elizabethtown Rotary Club Cool Breeze Tournament, a fund-raiser played at Carolina Sands, aced the 165-yard 16th hole with a pitching wedge. The ace was good for a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu donated by Dorman Motors of Elizabethtown. It was Yandle’s first ace in his golfing career.

Playing with Yandle, and witnessing the shot, were Bradley Butler, Donald Albright, and Wayne Hester.

According to Carolina Sands manager Bobby Davis, this was the first car ever won during a tournament at Carolina Sands. Davis said, “We appreciate so much Joe Dorman of Dorman Motors donating this car. Gestures like this help to create more interest in our civic tournaments, thus allowing the sponsoring organization to raise more money for civic endeavors.”
